turning summer into autumn

I know I'm being a total dork about blogging... But it's just so much fun!! Anyways, here is my first real post!!

How to make your summer clothes work in the fall! I will give you four summery clothing items and tell you how to pair them with the right things to fit right into the new season.

First up, the simple sundress.
Now, there are many different colors, shapes, details, and cuts for the simple sundress. But most have two things in common: they're short and they have short sleeves or no sleeve (I wouldn't suggest wearing strapless in autumn, but that's your call.)
In the picture below, we see that the model has paired her simple sundress with colored tights, basic black heels, and an adorable blazer (I have a thing for blazers ♥♥♥) She also has a DARK handbag. In the spring or summer, she might use a lighter one, like the lavender-ish color of her belt, but in fall, darker colors are ESSENTIAL!!

 Next is the nautical tee:
The whole nautical trend(which I also love) kind of popped up out of nowhere this late spring/summer. I love the pairing of this red-and-white striped tee with a neutral moto jacket, a simple scarf, and equestrian boots. However, I am not fond of the jewelry choice in this outfit. I prefer nautical-inspired outfits to be accented with silvers or a rubbed bronze.

Third, the basic tee:

An essential for every season, the basic short-sleeved tee is a very versatile piece. In the outfit below, the model is shown wearing a grey basic tee, grey ankle skinnies, coral loafers, and a small, black quilted handbag. All of which I love! BUT, since it is going to be autumn, this monochromatic outfit would look absolutely perfect with a black peacoat or moto jacket.

And, finally, we have the a-line skirt:
In the summer or spring, you may wear a shorter a-line skirt and maybe a short-sleeved or sleeveless blouse.
In the picture, you can see that the outfit is almost perfect for fall. All that is missing is a plum cardigan and some tights of the same color. So, all in all, pair your a-line skirts with simple blouses, cardigans, and tights for an elegant look this fall.

That's all for today! Thanks for reading! :)
